Nature’s Head® Composting Toilet
Installing in a cabin or tiny home? Consider the Nature’s Head® Structure Kit, which includes the AC adapter and exterior venting components.
Product Description The Nature’s Head® Composting Toilet is a proven, self-contained waterless sanitation solution trusted for reliability, durability, and long-term performance. Designed for off-grid living and remote installations alike, it delivers a practical, odor-free bathroom experience without the need for water, plumbing, or a septic system. Whether you’re outfitting an RV, boat, cabin, or tiny home, this composting toilet is built to perform.
At just 23 lbs. and with compact dimensions of 21″H x 20″W x 19″D, the Nature’s Head is easy to install and maintain in a wide range of spaces. Its urine-diverting design separates liquid and solid waste at the source, which is the key to eliminating odors and simplifying the emptying process. The solids bin holds approximately 60–80 solid uses before emptying, and the included 2.2-gallon liquids bottle handles liquid waste storage. Two agitator handle options let you choose the configuration that works best for your setup.
Important Installation and Power Information
The Nature’s Head® Composting Toilet includes a low-power 12V ventilation fan, a 12V power cable, fuse and fuse holder, five feet of ventilation hose, and hose ends.
For RVs, boats, vans, and other installations with an available 12V electrical system, the included cable can be connected to a suitable fused 12V power source.
Customers installing the toilet in a cabin, tiny home, house, garage, workshop, or another location with a standard household outlet will need the Nature’s Head® 110V AC Adapter, sold separately. This adapter allows the toilet’s 12V ventilation fan to operate from a standard household wall outlet.
All installations require the ventilation hose to be routed to an appropriate exterior vent. Although the toilet includes the ventilation hose, the exterior vent termination is selected separately based on the installation.
For cabins, tiny homes, and other permanent structures, we recommend purchasing the Nature’s Head® Structure Kit. This complete package includes the toilet, 110V AC Adapter, Shell Vent with Installation Kit, and a 9L bag of coco coir for a more complete installation.

FAQs
Q: What is the difference between the Spider Handle and the Foot Spider Handle? A: The Spider Handle is designed to be spun by hand and includes plastic knobs for easy grip. The Foot Spider Handle features looped handle ends that allow the agitator to be operated by either hand or foot for added convenience. Both options effectively mix the composting medium to support the composting process.
Q: How often does the Nature’s Head Composting Toilet need to be emptied? A: The solids bin holds approximately 60–80 solid uses before emptying, though this varies depending on the composting medium used and conditions. The 2.2-gallon liquids bottle will require more frequent emptying depending on usage frequency.
Q: Does this toilet require water or plumbing to operate? A: No. The Nature’s Head is a fully waterless, self-contained composting toilet. It does not require a water connection, plumbing, or a septic system.
Q: What power source does the toilet require? A: The fan operates on 12V DC power. An 18″ single pin cable for 12V hookup is included, along with a fuse and fuse holder for 12V applications. The fan comes pre-installed on the unit.
Q: What applications is the Nature’s Head Composting Toilet designed for? A: The toilet is designed for use in RVs, boats, cabins, and tiny homes — any setting where waterless, off-grid sanitation is needed.
